Restrictions on the Use of Hazardous Substances
NICE and its suppliers use a range of raw materials in manufacturing our products.

The European Union (EU), and some other states, have issued regulations limiting or forbidding the use of certain hazardous substances in the manufacture of electronic equipment (Restrictions on the Use of Hazardous Substances – RoHS). The substances that have restricted use (subject to certain conditions) under RoHS legislation are:
  • Lead
  • Mercury
  • Cadmium
  • Hexavalent Chromium
  • PBB
  • PBDE

For more details consult the RoHS directive.

NICE products are RoHS compliant:

In general, "RoHS compliant" does not mean "free of all these substances", but that the values of the six hazardous substances do not exceed certain maximum concentration values. NICE has announced that, from the beginning of July 2006, all new products and components manufactured by and for NICE are RoHS compliant.

For a complete overview of the supplementary and secondary legislation concerning RoHS, please go to the EU environment site.
